Loretta Lanier

Mrs. Loretta Steed Lanier, age 78 of New Hope Road, Denton, NC died Tuesday, February 5 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, Feb. 9 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Chaney and Rev. Kenneth Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will see friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.

Mrs. Lanier was born August 11, 1940 in Davidson County to Burrell Raymond Steed and Mabel Ruth Morris Steed. She was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. Loretta was a homemaker, she had worked for General Electric, and she retired from Black and Decker. In addition to her parents she also preceded in death by her brother, Mark Steed and her sister, Barbara Harris.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Jones Lanier of the home; sons, Tim Lanier and James Lanier and wife Tina all of Denton; granddaughter, Ashley Lanier; and many special friends.
