Clarence Buie, Jr.

Mr. Clarence Austin Buie, Jr. age 65, of Lexington Healthcare and formerly Chapel Hill Church Rd., Denton died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at WFU Lexington Medical Center. Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Johnny Daniel and Rev. Charlie Collins. Mr. Buie was born April 27, 1948 in Davidson County to Clarence Austin “Pete” Buie, Sr. and Ruth Lambeth Buie. He was a veteran of the US Army. Clarence worked for several years at Sports Country in Denton. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister; Connie Buie Walker. Survivors include, wife; Saundra Lanier Buie of the home, son; Shawn Buie of Thomasville, daughters; Tonia Buie Benton and husband Jamie of Denton and Amber Buie Dillard and husband Rick of Winston Salem, sisters; Vonnie Buie Steed and husband Gerald of Denton and Cherry Buie Surratt and husband Rick of Denton, and a brother; Bobby Joe Buie of Denton, grandchildren; (5) Logan Buie, Austin Benton , Brayton Buie, Kaylan and Jayden Dillard. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:30 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Chapel Hill Ch. Rd. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association or to The Wounded Warriors Project.
