Lee Lanier Cummings, age 72, of High Point died Friday, July 20 at her home. A graveside service for Mrs. Cummings will be 1:30 pm Sunday, July 22 at Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery in Denton. Ministers from her home church of First Presbyterian in High Point will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the home on Northbridge Court in High Point from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday. Mrs. Cummings was born July 31, 1939 in Davidson County to Wilson and Odetta Kindley Lanier. She was a real estate broker with Century 21 – Harry H. Cummings, Inc. and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in High Point. Playing golf and bridge were her hobbies and she had been an active member of the Women’s Circle at Swansboro Methodist Church when she lived in that area. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Kat Bisher and her brother-in-law Jim Landrum. She is survived by her husband, Harry H. Cummings, Sr. of the home, her first husband and friend Martin Beck, the father of her children, of King, daughters, Lisa Dyer and significant other Amanda Wilkins of King and Pam Phillips and husband John T. Phillips of Kenansville, step-sons, Howard J. Cummings and wife Sharon of Raleigh, Harry H. Cummings, Jr. and wife June of Kinston and W. Kent Cummings and wife Kim of Raleigh, step-daughter Eleanor Beasley and husband Dr. Charles Beasley of Kinston, sisters, Inez Varner and husband Tyler of Denton and Dot Landrum of High Point, one granddaughter Lauren Phillips, eight step-grandchildren and four step-greatgrandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262
