Yancey Lee Reeder

July 29, 1931 — February 28, 2012

Yancey Lee Reeder, age 80, of Asheboro went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 28 at his home. Funeral service for Mr. Reeder will be 11:00 am Friday, March 2 at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Farlow, Rev. Jody Harrison and Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of the daughter Debra on New Hope Road. Mr. Reeder was born July 29, 1931 in Moore County to Peter Jason and Eula Scott Reeder. He had worked as a self-employed carpenter and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Asheboro. The stories he entertained us with will be missed. He loved gospel music and he dearly loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “ You will be greatly missed until we see you again.” Mr. Reeder was preceded in death by brothers, John, William, Hoover, Theron and Pete Reeder and sister Alta Ritter. He is survived by one son, Mark Reeder and wife Lynn of Asheboro, two daughters, Debra Lynn Hunt of the New Hope Community and Vickie Hulin of Asheboro, two sisters, Ruby Hussey and Lucy Lambert, both of Robbins, grandchildren, Kevin Hulin and wife Carla, Travis Reeder and wife Jessica, Trevor Reeder, Andrew Reeder, Hannah Hulin, Hailey Hulin, Cassie Hulin and Trisha Reeder and great-grandchildren, Kinlin Hulin, Camden Hulin and Chloe Reeder. Memorials may be sent to Randolph Cancer Center, 373 North Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC 27203
