Xenophon Tysinger

January 14, 1919 — August 13, 2011

Miss Xenophon Tysinger of Denton died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at age 92. Born in Denton to Clara Ada Tysinger, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Denton, completed Denton High School, and attended Pfeiffer College for two years. She moved to the Washington DC area in the 1940's and worked for a while at the Naval Annex Building before moving back to Denton where she lived and worked on the Tysinger farm. She was very talented with handwork, derived much strength in reading her Bible, and maintained a hopeful, vital, and grateful life thanks to many faithful friends. She leaves a cousin Wade Tysinger and wife Dorain Springfield, VA, a cousin William Smyth and wife Iris in Arlington, MA, and many others inher extended family. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm at the Briggs Funeral Home in Denton followed by a 2:00 pm committal service at the Denton Cemetery conducted by Rev. James Cooper. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 515, Denton, NC 27239.
