Winfred Charles Kinley, aged 71, of Chapel Wood Rd., Denton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House. Born on February 7, 1954, in Davidson County, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph "Joe" Roosevelt Kinley and late Iva Ruth Summey Kinley.
Winfred graduated from Southwestern Randolph High School, class of 1972, and established a successful career as a certified pipe welder. Known for his keen skills in his trade, he was admired by colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Winfred was a man of many interests and hobbies. He found joy in gardening, racing, and was a devoted fan of Dale Earnhardt. He was also a passionate coin collector and arrowhead collector, often finding tranquility in these pursuits. He had attended Free Pilgrim Holiness Church in Archdale.
He is remembered by his loving family, including his daughter, Julia Kinley Dail; his sons, his namesake, Jeremiah Charles Kinley and his wife Candi, and Jacob Raymond Kinley. Winfred also found great joy in being a grandfather to Molly Dail, Charles "Charlie" Dail, Eli Kinley, and Eliot Kinley, who will cherish the memories made with him. His canine companion, Rosie, was by his side throughout many of his adventures.
Winfred is survived by his brother, Larry Kinley and his wife Barbara; his sisters, Helen Shelley and Rebecca "Becky" Lanier and her husband Jeff, who will hold his memory dearly. He was preceded in death by his brothers Stephen, Harold, Don, and James Kinley, as well as his sister Ruth Ann Kinney.
A visitation to honor Winfred's life will be held on December 20, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Church in Lexington, North Carolina, starting at 10:30 AM, with the funeral service following at 12:00 PM with Rev. Darrell Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Following the service the family will receive guest at Mr. Kinley's residence on Chapel Wood Rd. in Denton.
Winfred Charles Kinley will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness, love, and unmatched enthusiasm for life will continue in the hearts of his family and friends.
