Wilma Odom Beane

May 18, 1941 — January 11, 2012

Wilma Odom Beane, 70, of Blackankle Rd., Star, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on January 11, 2012 at her home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Big Oak Church of God, with Rev. Tim Beck, Rev. Billy Chriscoe and Rev. Clyde Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Beane was born May 18, 1941, in Darlington, SC, to Shafter and Lillie Mae Jackson Odom. She was the founder and historian of the Montgomery County Veterans Ladies Auxiliary and the woman behind the man. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae Odom and grandmother, Loretty Odom. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ralph Beane of the home; 2 daughters, Candace Beane of Blackankle and Hilda Williams of York, SC; her father, Shafter Odom of Troy; 3 sisters, Doris Odom of Orlando, FL, Joyce Allen of Biscoe and Lois Morton of Troy; 3 Grandchildren, Lillian and Adam Whitesell and Emma Williams. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Briggs Funeral Home in Troy and other times at the residence on Blackankle Rd.
