William Thomas Loflin, 98, of Denton, NC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his residence. Born on December 31, 1926, in Randolph County, he was the son of William Henry Loflin and Doshie Williams Loflin.
Thomas dedicated his career to working at Union Carbide, which later became Energizer Battery Inc., where he operated a spinning machine. He was also a devoted farmer. A faithful member of the First Global Methodist Church in Denton, Thomas was known for his love of mowing the lawn, frequent visits to Bojangles, and his deep affection for his family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jamie Maxine Chandler Loflin; his brother, Charles Loflin; stepbrother, Coy E. Loflin; and his stepsister, Mattie Snider. He is survived by his loving 2nd wife, Della Rush Richey Loflin; his son, William Monroe Loflin and wife Amanda; and his cherished grandchildren, Chandler Loflin and wife Kyla, and Maxine Nicole Loflin Kearns and husband Tristan.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 26, at First Global Methodist Church in Denton, officiated by Rev. Steve Roberts. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to First Global Methodist Church.
