William "Dub" Junior Saunders

Eagle Springs-Dub Saunders William Junior “Dub” Saunders, age 75, of Gurney W Rd., Eagle Springs, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at his residence. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 21, 2007 at Parsons Grove United Methodist Church with Doyle Calloway officiating. Burial will follow in McCallum Cemetery. A native of Montgomery County, Mr. Saunders was born March 27, 1932, the son of Worth and Carrie Campbell Saunders. He retired from the manufactured housing industry, where he was a production manager for over 30 years. His passion was farming and he enjoyed raccoon hunting. He farmed all his life, sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. His hard work ethic, love of family and friends leaves behind enduring memories. Mr. Saunders was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dee and Hiram Saunders. Mr. Saunders is survived by his wife, Virginia Williams Saunders of the home; 2 sons, Tony W. Saunders and wife Becky of Eagle Springs and Randy L. Saunders and wife Vickie of Seagrove; 2 sisters, Carlene Hicks of Biscoe and Alley Key of Candor; a brother, Bobby Saunders of Biscoe; 1 granddaughter, Tonya Saunders Parks and husband Danny of Biscoe; 3 grandsons, Aaron, Ryan and Peyton Saunders, all of Seagrove. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
