William "Dick" Horace Dickerson

Laurinburg, NC Mr. William "Dick" Horace Dickerson, age 76, of Scottish Ave., Laurinburg, died Friday, September 22, 2006 at his daughters home in Candor, surrounded by his family. Funeral service will be 4:00 PM Sunday, September 24, 2006 at Marcus United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. John Williams. Burial with Masonic Rites will be in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Dickerson was born November 3, 1929 in Wlbert County Georgia to William Alexander Dickerson and Icie Eavenson Dickerson. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean war and was retired from the wholesale food distribution industry. He was a member of Elverta Lodge and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Gaddy Dickerson and a son, William Earl Dickerson. He ios survived by his wife, Donna M. Dickerson, daughters, Teresa Bruton of Candor and Cheryl Ward of Jackson Springs. Stepsons, Jerry Baker of Laurinburg and Brian Baker of Laurel Hill. Brother Paul Dickerson of Piedmont, SC and Janie Slay of Elberton, Ga and Wanona Woody of Elberton, Ga. 5 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the service Sunday at Marcus United Methodist Church In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Homecare and Hospice, 120 N. Main St., Troy, NC 27371 or to Marcus United Methodist Church, c/o Linda Williams, 141 Research Farm Rd., Candor NC 27229 or to the Church of the Nazarene, 212 Beauty Spot Rd. E., Bennetsville SC 29512. A Memorial Service will be at The Church of the Nazarene in Bennettsville, SC at 2:00 PM Monday, September 25, 2006.
