William "Buck" Thompson

William H. “Buck” Thompson, 85, of Farmer’s Market Rd., Biscoe, died Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Autumn Care in Biscoe. Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Baker and Rev. Eric Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in the Candor Cemetery. Born December 10, 1931 in Montgomery County, he was the son of Henry H. and Ida Roberts Thompson. He was a farmer and a member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Britt Thompson in 2011, 4 brothers, Craven Roberts, Ervin Thompson, Marcus Thompson, and Sidney Thompson, 4 sisters, Ella Hogan, Lula Blake, Carrie Reid, and Maudell Lucas. He is survived by his son, Bruce Thompson and wife Linda of Jackson Springs; brother, John Thompson and wife Ruth of Candor; 3 grandchildren, Brad Thompson and wife Melody of Albemarle, Brooke Thompson Petty and husband Adam of Whispering Pines, and Bridget Thompson of Ellerbe; 3 great-grandchildren, Bethany Thompson, Caitlyn Thompson, and Connor Petty. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.
