William Basil Boyden Iii

Master Gunnery Sergeant William Basil Boyden, III, 64, of E. Randolph St., Candor, died Monday, May 14, 2018 at his residence.  Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 18, 2018 at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Harvel officiating.  Burial will follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.   Born in Massachusetts on April 18, 1954, he was the son of William Boyden, Jr. and Mary Maloney Boyden.  He was retired from the United States Marine Corps after 23 years of service.  He was a member of the American Legion, Post 12 and the VFW Post 7318.   He is survived by his wife, Susan Carrick Boyden of the home; step-son, Carrick Parsons and wife Leslie of Candor; son, Chris Boyden of Minnesota; mother Mary Maloney Boyden of Massachusetts; brother, Jimmy Boyden of Massachusetts; 2 granddaughters, Anna and Maggie Parsons, the light of his life.   The family will receive friends Friday following the service at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society,  PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123   Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
