Mr. William Hunter Anderson, age 71 of Farmer Rd., Denton died Sunday, August 31 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 4 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites. Mr. Anderson was born July 15, 1937 in Burke County to Charles Duval and Marie Jarrett Anderson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines and was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. He was employed as a shipping supervisor with Brasscraft Thomasville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Anderson. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife Vera Carswell Anderson of the home, sons, Mark Anderson and wife Mary Ann of Denton and Jason Bradley Anderson of the home, daughter Pamela Hicks and husband David of Denton, brothers, Jim E. Anderson and wife Phyllis of Bessemer City, Kent Anderson and wife Evelyn of Hickory, John D. Anderson and wife Brenda of Morganton and Joseph D. Anderson of Maryland, sisters, Betty Murray of Morganton, Elaine Mosteller and husband Jim of Belmont, Nancy Jean Brutz and husband Nick of Detroit, Michigan, sister-in-law Betty Anderson of High Point and niece Cindy Anderson of High Point, grandchildren, Joshua Hicks, Heather Hicks, Courtney Hicks, Marcus Anderson and Trevor Anderson. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Farmer Road.
