Mr. Wessie Hue Skeen, age 93 of South NC Hwy # 109, Denton, NC died Saturday, Nov. 10 at Hospice Home at High Point. A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 13 at Mountain View Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Steve McLain and Rev. Randy Lucas. Mr. Skeen was born November 27, 1913 in Davidson County to Robert Frank Skeen and Sallie Mae Morris Skeen. He was an army veteran of World War II, a member of Lineberry United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Burlington House Furniture, United Plant. He was married to Lucille Jones Skeen who died August 18, 1998. He was also preceded in death by a son, David Skeen and a brother Hal Skeen. Mr. Skeen is survived by daughters, Jo Ann Latham and husband Nick of Denton and Nancy Hartley and husband Tony of Tyro Community, Lexington. Grandson, Jason Hartley and wife Katie of Lexington and Jeff Hartley and wife Stephanie of Salisbury, and a great grandaughter, Ava Jane Hartley. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, Nov. 12 at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
