Mr. W. Wayne Anderson, age 93 of Sturdivant Road, Denton, NC died Thursday, October 6 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 9 at Denton Town Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by Rev. Scott Davis. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home. Mr. Anderson was born October 5, 1923 in Davidson County to Roscoe L. Anderson and Dorothy Belle Beck Anderson. He was a World War II veteran of the U S Army Air Corp. He had been employed in the Commercial Property construction industry. His hobbies were repairing antique clocks and gardening. He was married to Lucille Aycock Anderson who died December 24, 1990. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 5 brothers. He was privileged to have gone on the Triad Flight of Honor to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC. He is survived by daughters, Brenda A. Hughes and husband Tommy of High Point, and Martha A Loflin and husband Dale of Denton; brother Ned Anderson of Thomasville; grandsons, Cary Loflin of Atlanta, Ga., and Nathan Hege and wife Lauren of Anderson, SC, 2 great grandchildren; many Nieces and Nephews and Special Friends the Hudson and Hodges Families of Thomasville.
