Mrs. Wanda Whittaker Privett, 73, of N. Williams St. Candor, NC passed away on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 at Moore Regional Hospital. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, March 4 at Briggs Candor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Privett was born November 10, 1946 in Dickenson County, Virginia to Claude Eugene Whittaker and Mary Evelyn Bowman Whittaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Privett on September 9, 2019; her father, Claude Eugene Whittaker; mother, Mary Evelyn Bowman Whittaker Rodefer; son, Lee Oscar Rothe; brothers, David Michael Overcast, Robert H. Rodefer, Jr., and Mark Douglas Rodefer, Sr.; sister, Louise Lambert. She is survived by son, Sam Rothe of Illinois; daughter, Lisa Rothe of Calabash; step-son, Danny Privett of Star; step-daughter, Jane Gaddis of Siler City; brother, Robert Eugene Whittaker of Ozark, AL; sisters, Sally Snapp of Blountville, TN, Mary Clydette Owens of Clinchco, VA, De Anna G. Overcast of Champagne, IL, Rhonda Overcast of Champagne, IL, Mary Evelyn Rodefer Mitchell of Bristol, TN, and Robin C. Tester of Bluff City, TN; 6 grandchildren, Lee David Rothe, Samantha Rothe, Michelle Rothe, Alexis Raynor, Brianna Raynor, and Conner Hopkins; 3 great-grandchildren.
