Wanda Martin

Wanda Sullivan Martin, age 91, of Farmer Road Denton NC passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, March 9, 2025 surrounded by family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Johnny Henderson and Rev. Neil Latham. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Friday 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Briggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Wanda was born on November 14, 1933 in Davidson County to Johnny Mock Sullivan and Pearl Brown Sullivan.  She was a member of First Baptist Church.  Wanda was a cook at First Baptist Church Daycare and had worked at Thorton Hosiery Mill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Brack Gilbert Martin; 3 sons, Timothy Gilbert Martin, Jimmy Wayne Martin and Gil “Gilbo” Allen Martin and 2 sisters, Charlotte Henderson and Dottie Luther.

Wanda is survived by a Daughter-in-Law and Caretaker, Alice Martin of Lexington; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and a very special friend, Wheng – who spent countless hours helping Alice take care of Wanda.
