Wallace Mitchell

Mr. Wallace Mitchell age 88, of Farmer Court, Denton passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, April 16 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Elder Earl Dean Yates, Elder Roger Coleman, and Elder Jackie Yates. Burial will follow in the North Bend Cemetery. Mr. Mitchell was born March 1, 1928 in Buchanan County, VA to Robert and Alice Allen Mitchell. Wallace was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church in Haysi, VA., and had worked as a machine operator. Wallace was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Mitchell on January 20, 2016. Surviving are sons, Richard and Walley Mitchell both of Denton, and Bob Mitchell of Bluefield, WVA; daughters, Annest Anderson and Janice Collins both of Princeton, WVA and Doris Justice of Bluefield, WVA; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
