Mr. W. J. “Dub” Loflin, age 86, a lifelong resident of Denton died Tuesday, May 22 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. Funeral service for Mr. Loflin will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 25 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tammy Talbert officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Mr. Loflin was born August 9, 1925 in Davidson County to R. Hayes and Tempa Fine Loflin. He was a graduate of Denton School and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Methodist Men. He had worked at Hill Motor Company in Denton for many years and retired from Councill Craftsman. He enjoyed gardening and good conversation. Mr. Loflin is survived by his wife, Kathleen Hedrick Loflin of Denton, one son, Jones Loflin and wife Lisa of Denton and two grandchildren, Alex and Sydney.
