Voncille Cranford Gallimore, 88, of Denton, NC, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 25, 2025. Born on December 28, 1936, in Davidson County, she was the cherished daughter of the late Colon Cranford and Alma Lee Sikes Cranford Haltom.
Voncille's life was marked by her devotion to family and her passions. She pursued training at cosmetology school, which paved the way for a fulfilling career as a beautician. Additionally, she made significant contributions to the community by working in the textile industry at Thornton Hosiery Mill as a folder. Voncille's artistic touch and keen eye for beauty were evident not only in her work but in her daily life, where she found joy in both shopping and dining out with her beloved daughters.
An active member of the Summerville Baptist Church, Voncille enjoyed attending services and being part of her church community, which provided her with a source of comfort and connection throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Lynn G. Buie and Lisa G. Smith and her husband Dale; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Gallimore Grubb; as well as her brother, Jimmy Cranford, and step-sister, Betty Ann Pierce. Voncille delighted in her role as a grandmother, leaving behind her grandchildren: Brad Gallimore and his wife Christy, Cody Smith and his wife Victoria, Chase Smith, Dylan Gallimore and his wife Kayla, and Addie Grubb. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Brayden Gallimore, Blake Gallimore, Piper Gallimore, and Dawson Smith.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Darrell B. Gallimore, and her son, Darren Gallimore.
The remembrance of Voncille's life will be celebrated with a visitation on December 30, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Summerville Baptist Church, located at 3134 Summerville Church Road, Denton. A funeral service will follow on the same day at 2:00 PM with Rev. Thomas Frizzell officiating, culminating with her burial at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
Voncille Cranford Gallimore will be remembered for her warmth, her dedication to her family, and her vibrant spirit that brought joy to those around her. May she rest in peace.
