Virginia Johnson

Mrs. Virginia Cole Johnson of Fuquay-Varina  and formerly of Denton joined her husband and daughter in Heaven on Wednesday, March 15, 2023

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 19 at Lick Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Michael Evans officiating.

Mrs. Johnson was born August 4, 1923 in Davidson County to Albert Milton Cole and Freda Morgan Cole.  She was a graduate of Women’s College now University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She was a retired school teacher.  She was married to Dr. James Thomas Johnson who died August 7, 2003.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter Jane Johnson Penney, by a sister Ruth Johnson and a brother Brooks Cole.

She is survived by her son James T (Tommy) Johnson, Jr. of Richfield; a daughter Virginia J Dickens and husband Donald of Fuquay-Varina; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
