Virginia Bullard

Ms. Virginia Hughes Bullard, 79, of E. Second St., Denton, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at her residence.  A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, Sept. 16 at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Flynn Richardson presiding. Interment will follow at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.Ms. Bullard was born April 5, 1938 in Davidson County to John Hughes and Elda Varner Hughes. She worked as a Knitter for Bisher Hosiery Mill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin (Ben) J. Bullard and grandsons, Jonathan Snider and Benjamin Pryor; granddaughter, Nicole Bullard; brother, Lloyd Hughes; and sisters, Ruby Hoover and Helen Trotter.Surviving is, sons, James Bullard and Benjie Bullard both of Denton; daughters, Janice Snider and husband Neil of Denton and Melinda Martin and husband Richard Burney of Lakewood, OH; brother; Austin Hughes of Statesville; 6 grandchildren, Cathy Kern, Ricky Martin, Jr., Steven Snider, Sabrina Bullard, Matthew Ben Bullard, and Taylor Cole Bullard; 4 great-grandchildren, Mercedes Cantrell, Benjamin Kern, Bradley Kern, and Wiley McDowell; 1 great-great-grandchild, Anna Marie Misugi. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church and other times at the residence.
