Virgie Owen Reid

Mrs. Virgie Owen Reid, age 86, of Mountain View Church Road, Lexington, NC died Wednesday, January 30 at the home of her nephew. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 2 at Mountain View Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tim Miller and Rev. Claudie Harrison. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Reid was born May 24, 1926 in Davidson County to Joe Henry Owen and Estella Laughlin Owen. Mrs. She was a retired furniture manufacturing employee and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She was married to Glenn Reid who died in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents, by sisters, Zeola Carrick and Elsie Owen and by a brother Clifford Owen Mrs. Reid is survived by a nephew, Donnie Owen; a niece Kaye Talbert and a sister-in-law Louise Owen, all of Lexington. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Brigs Funeral Home in Denton and other times will be at the residence of Louise Owen on Mountain View Church Road, Lexington.
