Mrs. Virgie Frank Surratt Lee, age 92, of Old Camp Rd., Denton died Monday, February 23 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, Feb. 26 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve McLain and Rev. Randy Lucas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lee was born January 14, 1917 in Davidson County to J. Walter and Mattie Frank Frank. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and was retired from Bisher Hosiery Mill. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Grady Surratt, second husband, Claude Lee and a sister, Mary Ocker. Mrs. Lee is survived by a son, Billy Surratt and wife Iva Cranford Surratt of Denton, daughters, Beverly Surratt Poist and husband Charles of Denton and Carolyn Surratt Garner of Denton, four brothers, Edgar Frank and Paul Frank, both of Denton, Clifford Frank of Livingston, CA and Lawrence Frank of High Point and one sister, Julie Knepper of Melborne, FL, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two step grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence of Billy Surratt on Surratt Rd. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Mountain Vista Health Park for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Lee.
