Virgie Goodwin

Mrs. Virgie Loflin Goodwin, age 92 of Denton died Thursday, December 22 at Mountain Vista Health Park.

A funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 27 at Goodwill Christian Church conducted by Rev. Melvin Morton.  Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

The family will see friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Briggs Funeral Home and at other times at the home of the daughter Shryl Parnell on North Main Street in Denton.

Mrs. Goodwin was born January 26, 1930 in Davidson County to Robert Loflin and Maie Lanier Loflin.  She was a homemaker and had worked at Bisher Mills.  She was married to Wilford L Goodwin who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Goodwin, by sisters Dorothy Loflin, and Naomi Gallimore and by brothers, Evans Loflin, Dalton Lolfin and Paul Loflin.

She is survived by a son, Stacey Goodwin and wife Wendy of Denton; a daughter, Shryl Parnell and husband Edward of Denton; a brother Roby Loflin and wife Betty of Denton; grandchildren Victoria Fleming (Jacob) and Joseph Goodwin (Nicole);  great grandchildren Gracie and Kylan.
