Walter Virden Waisner, age 93, of Surratt Road, Denton died Thursday, June 13 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 17 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Burial with Military honors will be in the Church Cemetery The family will see friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Monday at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Briggs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Waisner was born in Davidson County April 12, 1920 to Albert Walter Waisner and Freda Lanier Waisner. He was a World War II veteran of the U S Army and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. He was a retired knitting machine fixer with Thornton Knitting Company and later worked a number of years with Kountry Korner Hardware working until he was almost 90. He was married to Nora Lanier Waisner who died April 2, 1984,. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Jones and an infant son, Archie Albert Waisner. He is survived by son Tony Waisner and wife Carol of Denton; daughter, Khaki Rhodes of Denton; brothers, Leroy Waisner and Edward Waisner both of Thomasville; a sister Cora Belle Brown of Thomasville. 7 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
