Jackson Springs-Viola Lamonds Viola Davis Lamonds, 86, of Center Church Rd., died Monday, June 15, 2009 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Center Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Mark Moore and Rev. Evander Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Candor Cemetery. Born January 16, 1923 in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of John and Abbie Sheffield Davis. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Lamonds in 2001. She is survived by 7 sons, Cecil and Carl Lamonds, both of Troy, Carson Lamonds of Sanford, Richard Lamonds of Pinebluff, Wayne and Jessie Lamonds, both of the home and Roy Lamonds of Wadesboro; 2 sisters, Vinnie Barnes of Troy and Lucy Sheffield of Texas; a half-sister, Irene Gillis of Troy; 9 Grandchildren; 15 Great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Pearlie Morrison. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the home of Carl Lamonds in Troy.
