Mr. Eddie Vernon Tysinger, age 72 of Old Highway # 109, Lexington, NC died Wednesday, December 2 at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 6 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery on Loftin Road in Denton conducted by Rev. Richard Gould and Mr. Doug Cody. The family request that those attending please wear a mask. Mr. Tysinger will lie in state from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Vernon was born December 13, 1947 in Rowan County to Malden Tysinger and Josephine Newsom Tysinger Woodle. He was a charter member of the Healing Springs Fire Department. He was self-employed and has been retired for several years due to health issues. He and his wife, Shirley were owners of Tysinger Hosiery Mill, Inc., which was established in 1974. The business is still family owned and operated. Vernon also had a love for miniatures horses which he had for many years. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and NASCAR fan, loved dealing in the stock market and traveling with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. He was preceded in death by his father, Malden Tysinger and mother Josephine Woodle and a sister Hilda Tysinger. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Harrison Tysinger of the home, daughter Toni Tysinger (Kinley) and son-in-law Mark McCoy of Lexington; son, Bradley Mark Tysinger and daughter-in-law, Ginger of Thomasville, 3 grandchildren, Marcus Kinley, Millicent Tysinger, and Avery Tysinger; sisters Joyce Robinson of Lexington and Cathy Tysinger Leonard of Southport, brother Cletus Tysinger of Yanceyville.
