Vernon Rogers

November 12, 1934 — February 26, 2020

Mr. Vernon Edward Rogers, 85, formerly of Denton passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020 at Spring Arbor of Thomasville.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, Feb. 29 at Lick Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bynum Orr presiding.

Following the service there will be a gathering of friends at High Rock Cowboy Church in Denton.

A public viewing will be on Friday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.

Vernon was born November 12, 1934 in Davidson County to Edward E. Rogers and Carrie Dunning Rogers. He was a member of Floyd Baptist Church and he enjoyed attending the church services held at Spring Arbor conducted by Rev. Don Faulkner. He was a sawmill operator. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Dwight Rogers.

He is survived by sisters, Brenda Tysinger of Lexington and Mary Lou Buie of Denton; and his beloved dog, Bobo.

Memorials can be made to Spring Arbor of Thomasville or to the Humane Society.
