Vernon Wade Hamilton

Candor-Vernon Hamilton, age 82, of Sandy Ridge Assisted Living, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Sandy Ridge. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the First Wesleyan Church in Troy, with Pastor Phil Phillips and Rev. Doug Beadle officiating. Burial will follow in the Love Joy United Methodist Church Cemetery. A native of Montgomery County, Mr. Hamilton was born June 10, 1926, the son of Arthur Wade and Hattie Saunders Hamilton. He was a member of the First Wesleyan Church in Troy. He is survived by his wife, Verlene Maness Hamilton of Candor; 2 stepsons, Willis Freeman and Willard Freeman, both of Troy; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Willard of Robbins; 2 sisters, Myrtle Maness of Star and Frances Russell of Troy; several nieces and nephews survive. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Saturday prior to the service at the First Wesleyan Church in Troy.
