Verlie Wood Loflin

Mrs. Verlie Wood Loflin, age 89, of Farmer Rd., Denton died Wednesday, June 15 at Randolph Hospital. Graveside service for Mrs. Loflin will be 2:00 pm Friday, June 17 at Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Derald Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home. Mrs. Loflin was born May 13, 1922 in Randolph County to Numie R. and Ida Amie Briles Wood. She had worked for Bisher Hosiery, Burlington Industries and Thornton Knitting in Denton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred Loflin who died August 15, 1965, her son, Charles Loflin and a sister Faye Byrum. Mrs. Loflin is survived by her daughter, Regina Poole of Denton and husband Jackie, daughter-in-law Audrey Loflin of Denton, one brother, Clarence Wood of Asheboro, one sister, Clara Loflin of Trinity, the Jackson Creek Community, nephews Randy Loflin, Tony Wood and Tim Wood and niece Sherri Freland
