Mrs. Vergie Nance Cobb, age 91 of Jefferson Court, Archdale and formerly of the Blaine community in Montgomery County died Friday, February 9 at Hospice Home of High Point. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday February 12 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Denton conducted by Rev Derald Smith. Burial will follow at Eldorado Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends 12:30 until 1:30 PM Monday at Briggs Funeral Home. Mrs. Cobb was born October 17, 1926 in Davidson County to Fred Watson Nance and Bessie Kindley Nance. She was a graduate of Denton High School and a member of Eldorado Baptist Church where she had taught a Sunday School Class and been active in the WMU of the Church. She had worked as a seamstress and was a homemaker. She was married to Clayton Cobb who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by brothers, J B Nance, Clinard Nance, Lester Nance and Glenn Nance and by sisters, Faye Everhart and Hazel Elliott. She is survived by a son, Phillip Cobb and wife Carol of Staunton, Va; daughters, Nancy Beane and husband Dwight of Trinity and Karen Koch and husband Andrew of Virginia Beach, Va. grandchildren, Rodney Beane, Susan Chester and husband Mike, Maggie Cobb, Mark T Cobb and wife Michaela, Thomas Koch and wife Cara, Patrick Koch and Joseph Koch; great grandchildren, Cameron Beane, Erin Beane, Olivia Chester, Sophia Cobb and Noah Cobb; great great grandchild, Emmy Beane.
