Vera Anderson

Mrs. Vera Carswell Anderson, age 79 of Piedmont School Road, Denton, NC died Tuesday, August 1 at Mountain Vista Health Park. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 5 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Smith. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence on Piedmont School Road ,Denton. Mrs. Anderson was born May 26, 1938 in Burke County to Ralph Carswell and Dorothy Orders Carswell.. She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and had worked at Burlington Industries, Denton Plant. She later operated a home daycare for 21 year and cared for many children during this time as if they were her own She was married to William H Anderson for 50 years until his death August 31, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister Doris Newton and a brother Bobby Carswell. She is survived by sons, Jason Anderson of Trinity and Mark Anderson of Denton; a daughter Pamela Hicks and husband David of Denton; a sister Joann Patton of Morganton; grandchildren, Joshua and wife Marissa, Heather, Courtney, Marcus, and Trevor; great grandchild, Jackson.
