Truby Loflin

March 2, 1918 — October 26, 2011

Truby Lee Lanier Loflin, age 93, of Handy Rd., Denton died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at her residence. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Lineberry United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Kelly Creekmur and Rev. Mike McClellen. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence. Mrs. Loflin was born March 2, 1918 in Davidson County to Van Lanier and Gracie Morris Lanier. She was a homemaker, a member of Lineberry United Methodist Church, and had a passion for working in her flowers and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Loflin on March 16, 1974, by her son, James Branson Loflin on October 2, 2001, and by grandchildren, Greta Smith Cody, Donna Loflin, and Donald Loflin. Survivors include, son; Brink Loflin and wife Dorcus of Denton, daughter; Barbara Smith and husband Richard of Denton, daughter-in-law, Connie Loflin of Denton, grandchildren; Tyron Smith, Derrick Loflin, Damon Loflin and wife Deana, and Michele Wolfe, great grandchildren; Danielle Treadway and husband David, Allison Turner and husband Nick, Brantly Wolfe, Leigh Smith, Carly Loflin, Jos’ee Wolfe, Kaylee Loflin, Greenlee Loflin, and Travis Hicks, great-great grandchildren; Dakota Treadway and Asher Turner. Memorials can be made to Lineberry United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund in c/o Linda Pearce 2222 Piedmont School Rd., Denton, NC 27239.
