Mr. Troy Franklin Grubb, 97, of Cid Rd, Lexington passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at his home after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, Nov. 11 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gene Little officiating. Interment will follow at Pierce’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Grubb was born in Denton on December 12, 1919 to Frank and Effie Lambeth Grubb. He was a self-employed sawmill operator most of his life. Troy was a hard-working and strong individual. In addition to his parents Troy was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Pierce Grubb; son, Danny Moize; brother, Clifford Grubb; sisters, Fallie Loflin, Pallie Bunting, Bertha Harrison, Brady Grubb, and Ruby Nance; son-in-laws, James “Duck” Cockman and Donnie Barnes. He is survived by sons, Darrell Grubb and wife Ann of Lexington, Ronald Grubb and wife Reba of Trinity, Wayne Grubb and wife Janet of Trinity, Gene Moize and friend Darlene, Jimmy Moize and wife Angie, Timmy Moize and wife Cindy; daughters, Joyce Cockman of Lexington; Janet Barnes, Linda Shaw and husband Jerald, Angel Stewart and husband Jimmy of Burlington; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton prior to the service and other times at the residence.
