Tommy Joe Parker

      Mr. Tommy Joe Parker, age 82 of Briggs Road, Lexington, NC died Friday, January 19 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 23 at Mountain View Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tim Miller. Burial with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will be in the Church Cemetery.   The family will see friends from 1:30 until 2:00 Tuesday at Mountain View Baptist church.   Mr. Parker was born November 11, 1935 in Davidson County to Johnny Parker and Bessie Tysinger Parker. He was a veteran of the U S Navy having served in the Navy for 20 years. He was a member Mountain View Baptist Church and Denton Lodge # 404 AF & AM. He was preceded in death by a son, Jack McDonald, a daughter Terri Parker, grandson, T. J. McDonald, brothers, Irvin, R. J. and Clyde Parker and a sister, Grace Parker.   He is survived by his wife, Vedal Smith Parker of the home; daughters, Brenda Miles and husband Gary of Lexington, Linda Moore and husband Doug of Virginia and Sonia Dohm and husband Chuck of Rock Hill, SC; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.   Memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565
