Thelma Campbell McNeill, 85, of McNeill Dr., Candor, passed away peacefully Friday, March 29, 2013 at her home with family by her side. Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. Thelma was born in Montgomery County on June 14, 1927, the daughter of Montgomery “Gum” Alexander and Annie Smith Campbell. She had retired from Candor Hosiery Mill. Thelma enjoyed reading, walking her dogs and animals. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Leslie McNeill, Sr. in 1979, 3 sisters, Bonnie Thomas, Lula Mallard and twin sister Velma Love, and 3 brothers, Lonnie, Jim and Edgar Campbell. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie McNeill of the home; 2 sons, William McNeill, Jr and wife Cindy of Cheyenne, WY and Don McNeill and wife Gina of Louisville, KY ; 5 Grandchildren, Elena, Maria and William, all of Cheyenne, Tristi Winscott of St. Louis, MO and Deana McNeill of Charlotte; 1 Great-grandchild, Nevaeh McNeill-Jacquez of Cheyenne. She is also survived by her dog, “Little Max”, who never left her side. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.
