Candor Thelma Chisholm Mrs. Thelma Hicks Morgan Chisholm, 92, of Lovin Hill Road, Candor, NC died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 25 at Macedonia Presbyterian Church (Old Sanctuary) conducted by Rev. David Speering and Rev. Mark Fisher. Burial will follow at the Chisholm Cemetery. Mrs. Chisholm was born October 6, 1917 in Montgomery County to Wiley Harrison Hicks and Esther Hicks Hicks. She was a member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker, had worked in the hosiery industry and farmed. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Morgan and Theodore R. Chisholm who died November 10, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Morgan Britt Thomas, by sisters, Ella H. Kellis and Frances H. Gallimore and by brothers, Thomas Hicks and Harrison Hicks. Mrs. Chisholm is survived by her son, Jimmy C. Chisholm of Candor, 2 Grandchildren, Danny Britt and wife Carol of Seagrove and Kenneth Thomas and wife Kelly of West End, a sister Grace Britt of Biscoe, and brothers, James C. (Pete) Hicks and Claude Hicks both of Candor; 2 Great-grandchildren and 8 Great-great grandchildren. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence on Lovin Hill Road.
