Thelma Burns

Thelma Cole Burns, 86, of Jordan Rd, Ramseur died Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Randolph Hospital. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 1, 2008 at Big Oak Christian Church conducted by Rev. Robert Dennis,. Mrs. Burns was born December 12, 1921 in Moore County to Benjamin Cole and Ida Brown Cole. She last worked as a seamstress at Jeanette Maternity Fashions. She was a member of Big Oak Christian Church. Her husband Emery Burns, brother Whiteford Cole, and sister Sybil Chisholm preceded her in death. Survivors include, two sons, Randy Burns of Hampton, VA., and David Burns of Asheboro, three daughters; Carolyn Seamone of Albemarle, Phyllis Stokes of St. Matthews, SC., and Wanda Hedrick of St. Augustine, FL., two brothers; Roger Cole of Southern Pines, and Tom Cole of Montgomery, Alabama, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family will see friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor.
