Terry Lynn Moody

Mrs. Terry Lynn Andrews Moody, 76, of Lexington, NC passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at her residence after an illness of two months. Born on February 23, 1950, in Forsyth County the daughter of the late William Ray Andrews and Betty Lou Andrews.

Terry graduated from North Davidson High School in 1968 and earned an Associate Degree in Executive Secretariat Science from Forsyth Technical Institute. In 1987 the Professional Secretaries International awarded Terry with the rating of – Certified Professional Secretary.

Terrys career started in the Transportation Industry with McLean Trucking Company, where she met the love of her life Robert. She continued her career with Drovers National Bank, Chicago, IL., Thalhimers Retail, Winston-Salem, NC and Earl M. Chiles an American Businessman and Philanthropist, Portland, OR.

Terry retired in Portland in 1996 and moved to Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX as her husband continued to work with Con-way Transportation. During their stay in Texas, Terry worked as a volunteer at the Cooks Children’s Dialysis Unit and Indian Springs Middle School as a Teachers Aid.

Terry and Robert, who eventually retired, moved back home to Lexington, NC where they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this past August 21st, 2025. They have enjoyed their many years of travel & making new friends through out the United States and Canada.

People who knew Terry quickly became aware of her athletic ability to play slow pitch and fast pitch softball. She was also always ready to join in a pick up game of basketball. While living in Chicago she enjoyed going to the ball park to cheer for her Chicago Cubs.

I would like to thank the entire staff at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton, NC who looked after Terry (with love) for the past nine months.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Robert Gray Moody; her brother, Gary Andrews of Statesville; and her sisters, Pam Lowery and Joy Andrews both of Winston Salem. Terry was preceded in death by her parents.

A private family graveside service will be held at Tom's Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery; there will be no public visitation.
