Terry Wayne Ball

Terry Wayne Ball, 78, of Lexington, NC, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at his residence. Born on November 28, 1946, in Davidson County, Terry was the son of Floyd Ball and Clara Snider Ball. He attended Gardner Webb University before transferring and graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Later he went on to further his education and received his master's degree. Terry dedicated his career to teaching at Central Davidson, where he was a coach, drivers education instructor, and history teacher. He was an active member of Denton Wesleyan Church until his health declined and was a past president of the Linwood Lion’s Club. A sports enthusiast, Terry enjoyed playing golf, running, and supporting his beloved UNC Tar Heels.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Floyd Ball; his sister, Connie Ball Hartley; and his beloved canine companion, Gracie. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Debbie Harrison Ball; his son, Scottie Ball and his wife Jamie; his daughter, Kelly Ball Hollar and her husband Craig; and his five grandchildren, Garrett Ball (Georgia), Samuel Ball, Haley Ball Hege (Dylan), Alex Hollar, and Isaac Hollar.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, Aug. 1, at Denton Wesleyan Church, officiated by Rev. Charlie Collins. Interment will follow at Cid Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church and at other times at the residence. The family request that those in attendance would wear something Carolina blue in memory of Terry.
