Tamara Lanier Turner, 60, of John Lookabill Rd., Lexington, NC passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Derald Smith officiating. Mrs. Turner will lie in state on Wednesday from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Face coverings are required as well as the practice of social distancing.
Tamara was born in Davidson County on September 17, 1960, to Nolan Lanier and Floretta Andrews Lanier. She was a graduate of Denton High School class of 1978 and had been employed with Bossong Hosiery as a machine operator until a decline in health. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Jeff White; her second husband David Turner.
She is survived by her son, Jesse Turner of Lexington; 2 grandchildren, Bailee Gracelynn Turner and David Blake Turner; brother, Jesse Nolan “Jay” Lanier, Jr. and wife Denise of Denton; sisters, Saundra Lanier Buie of Denton and Gayla Lanier Hedrick and husband Jimmy of Lexington; a several nieces and nephews.
