Susan Garner

Mrs. Susan Kearns Garner age 76, a resident of Denton, NC passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, October 29 at First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Vern Peterson. Interment will follow in Denton Town Cemetery. Mrs. Garner was born June 25, 1940 in Davidson County to Roy Kearns and Hazel Russell Kearns. She was a graduate of Ashmore Business College and a member of the Denton Ladies Civitans. Susan was a member of First Baptist Church in Denton and the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rowland B. Garner and a daughter, Kim Garner Morris. Surviving are daughters, Shawn Talent and husband John of Denton and Christi Swing and husband Robert of Lexington; son-in-law, Scott Morris of Denton; grandchildren, Candace Shore (Brandon), Travis Morris (Hailey), Catherine Griffin (Tyler), and Anna Swing, and Cameron Talent; great-grandchildren, Myles Hampton and Banks Shore. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Denton and other times at the home of daughter Shawn Talent on Flat Swamp Rd. Denton.
