Sue Ferrell

Martha Sue Wallace Ferrell, 83, formerly of Denton Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Mountain Vista Health Park.

A graveside service will be 11:00 am Monday, Dec. 20 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Hopkins officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of Gina Giles on Denton Rd.

Sue was born in Davidson County on June 8, 1938 to Lee Roy Wallace and Ida Mae Michael Wallace. She attended Wayside Baptist Church and was a Licensed Practical Nurse having worked at Lexington and Thomasville Hospitals. In addition to her parents Sue was also preceded in death by her husband, John Ferrell; sisters, Lutelle Yarborough and Johnnie Mae Young.

She is survived by son, James Hopkins (Sabrina) of Roanoke, VA; daughter, Gina Giles (Marvin) of Denton; step-sons, Branson Lee Ferrell and John Ferrell, Jr.; 7 grandchildren, Mark Hopkins, Joshua Hopkins, Stephanie Lanier, Ashley Johnson, Kandace Eubanks, Dustin Giles, and Rebecca Meeks; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Mountain Vista Health Parke for the high level of care given to Sue.
