Sue Byrd Boyd

Mary Sue Byrd Boyd, 66, of Boyd Rd., Candor, died Friday, August 4, 2023 at Autumn Care of Biscoe.  Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Hickory Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Rev. Joe T. Beane and Rev. Kevin Sneed officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in Montgomery County on August 16, 1956, she was the daughter of Marvin and Mary Salter Byrd.  She was a member of Hickory Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a member of  the Christian Education Board, served as secretary and treasurer, was a Sunday School teacher and leader of Children’s Church, and was a VBS teacher.  Sue was an LPN and had her own children’s daycare.

She is survived by her husband, Merrill Boyd of the home.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Wednesday prior to the service at the church and after the service in the fellowship hall.
