Stephen "Steve" Rushing

Mr. Stephen “Steve” Aubrey Rushing, 76, of Lassiter Loop Rd., Troy, NC passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, April 15, 2019 at Briggs Candor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. S. Daniel Rushing and Rev. Jerry Coe officiating. Interment will follow at Love Joy United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Mr. Rushing was born November 5, 1942 in Montgomery County to W.A. Rushing and Ruth Dickens Rushing. He attended Mercy Chapel Church of God. Stephen had worked as a security guard and a cross country truck driver. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Rushing and a great-grandson, Damien Reza.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Thompson Rushing of the home; son, S. Daniel Rushing of Mount Holly; daughters, Tara Hathcock of New London and Marci Hathcock of Asheboro; brother, Phillip Rushing of Candor; sister, Ann Morgan of Biscoe; 9 grandchildren, Tiffany Frieary, Kyana Reza, Aryssa Eddins, David Nanney, Marcia Nanney, John Hall, Rose Hall, Bianca Rushing, and Olivia Rushing; 6 great-grandchildren, Xzavier Pegues, Mia Pegues, Brooklyn Pegues, Sophia Pegues, Waylon Reza, and Itherael Reza.
