Stephen Willis Floyd, age 56 of Highway 47 Denton, died Friday, November 17 at his residence after a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 21 at 11:00 AM at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Butch Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in New Jerusalem United Church of Christ Cemetery. Mr. Floyd was born July 13, 1950 in Guilford County to Willis Edgar Floyd and Pauline Gallimore Floyd. He was a member of New Jerusalem United Church of Christ and was employed with Bill’s Hosiery Mill in Denton where he worked in the shipping department. Survivors include father Willis Edgar Floyd of Britthaven Nursing Center in Thomasville;mother Pauline Gallimore Floyd of Denton;one brother Gary Floyd of Denton;two sisters Sonja Reid and husband Lamar of Roswell, GA and Carol Jean Elliott of High Point; Two nieces Kristin Reid of Georgia; Andera Walker and husband Mark of Thomasville, and Two great nephews Brantley Walker and Brayden Walker of Thomasville Visitation will be Monday, November 20 from 6-8 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
