January 13, 1951 — July 12, 2015

Stella Mae Hazelwood Smith age 64, went to be with the lord on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at her home after battling Lung Cancer for over two years. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Mike Irby. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in High Point. Stella was born on January 13, 1951 in Guilford County. Mrs. Smith was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Fern Viola Trottier of High Point; her two sons, Keith Bryan Cook (Jennifer) of Thomasville and Michael Ray Cook (Lisa) of Mount Holly; 5 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Cody, Zane, Hannah, Zachary, and Amber; brother, Charles Trottier of Clemmons who was always there for her when she needed him; sister, Tamara Hundley of Tenn.; and her very best friends her pets, Sissy, Buckeye, Brianna, Apple Buttons, and Molly. A special thanks to a friend Peggy Ann Cody who always checked in on Stella for the family and was a true friend to the end of her journey. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Online condolences may be made at www.briggsfuneralhome.co
