Shirlyn Simmons

Shirlyn Loflin Simmons, 57, of Denton died Thursday May 1 at her residence. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 3 at 4:00 PM at Liberty Fellowship Church with Rev. James Draughn and Rev. Michael Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Simmons was born March 17, 1951 in Davidson County the daughter of Clifford Loflin, Sr. and Beulah Hogan Loflin. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her father Clifford Loflin, a brother H. Dwight Loflin and sister Linda Loflin. Survivors include her husband Wayne Simmons of the home; mother Beulah Hogan Loflin of Denton; son Michael Simmons of Lexington; a daughter Jill Goodson of Denton; brothers Hoyt Loflin, Kenneth Loflin, and David Loflin, and sister Barbara Jean Earnhart, all of Denton; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
