Shirley Tucker

Mrs. Shirley Rose Smith Tucker age 81, of Ophir Rd. Troy died January 8, 2015 at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Tucker was born July 25, 1933 in Davidson County to Freeman Michael Smith and Dallas Jayne Sexton Smith. Shirley was a homemaker, a member of Calvary Gospel Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Jahue Stamey Tucker, Jr Survivors include sons, Jahue Stamey Tucker III of Lancaster, SC, Freeman Michael Tucker of Lancaster, SC, and Jesse Thomas Tucker of PA; daughters, Leslie Karen Smith Sutton of Mooresville, Cathy Ann Tucker Simmons of Charlotte, and Kellie Rose Tucker Morgan of Lexington; brother, Michael Rex Smith of Stanly; sister, Clara Sue Smith Lunsford of Thomasville; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A private burial will take place at the Tucker Family Cemetery on Sunday, January 11, 2015. Arrangements are by Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
